But I fear the article assumes too readily that poor grades and poor income are both the products of poor effort. This may indeed be the case in a socialist society, and can be the case in capitalist ones. However, I have the opportunity to work with many poor folks who struggle to make ends meet for their families, and these souls are anything but lazy. Indeed, I suggest it was precisely the experience of laborious poverty that paved the way for 19th and 20th century socialist theories in the first place. Churches are symbols of Christ's body, and so should reflect his sacrificial work as the new Temple. Christ spoke of the destruction of the Temple, and the veil in the Temple was ripped asunder. The Temple, therefore, is no model for church architecture. There seems to be considerable variation from seminary to seminary, but I'm wondering which practice is really best for the seminarians. I would like to add that the altar rail also helps tie us more clearly to our Jewish origins, revealing Christianity as the fulfillment of God's work with the nation of Israel. The rail helps us see the old Jerusalem Temple, just as the traditional silence of the Canon reminds us of the high priest's quiet work in the old Holy of Holies. In the Holy Mass, it is from the innermost "sanctuary" that Holy Communion is brought to the faithful, which they receive not at a great distance from, but right on top of, the dividing rail. It's simply brilliant architectural theology and cathechesis. Rood Screenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09816036539243214384noreply@blogger.com
